Huawei launched an entry-level, IDEOS smartphone powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo) and featuring a price point of between US$100 and US$200, depending on the market.

The phone features WCDMA + WiFi dual network support, and functions as a WiFi hotspot router for up to eight other devices. It boasts a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and a microSD slot. Huawei will offer several bright colors.

"We are proud to have already achieved our goal from early 2010 of developing a US$150 smartphone with an excellent user experience. The IDEOS is an affordable option, designed to lower barriers to entry to allow easy mobile Internet access."http://www.huawei.com
