Cyan is introducing a reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) module with up to 40 channels of wavelength selectable switching (WSS) for use in its Z-Series platforms. The new Z-Series WSS-402 module simplifies the upgrade of fiber transport routes for up to 400 Gbps of capacity per-fiber with simple plug and play modules, and optional fixed or tunable optics. Cyan's multi-layer management system provides network-wide, point and click provisioning of wavelengths on demand.
Cyan's Z-Series platforms support Carrier Ethernet services with connection oriented Ethernet transport, SONET/SDH transport, as well as G.709 muxponded and transponded services. As services consume available fibers, service providers have a choice of adding four, eight or up to 40 channels of DWDM capacity with simple card additions. Cyan's new single-slot WSS-402 module provides a fully integrated design providing DWDM, EDFA (Eridium Doped Fiber Amplifiers), OSC (Optical service channel) and WSS all in one single-slot module.
