Tata Teleservices has selected Nokia Siemens Networks for its 3G launch. The network, based on WCDMA 3G and including HSPA+, will allow TTSL to offer high-quality mobile broadband providing fast Internet browsing and better quality voice calls.
Under the scope of the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will supply its compact, energy-efficient and LTE-ready Flexi Multiradio Base Stations. Nokia Siemens Networks will also provide network implementation and managed services to ensure a smooth rollout, improved network performance and seamless introduction of new services. The company will also provide its NetAct network management system to monitor, manage and optimize the 3G/HSPA+ network, and supply other operational support systems.
Nokia Siemens Networks operates a 3G manufacturing facility at Chennai. It already serves many of the world's leading 3G operators from its Global Network Solutions Centers located in Noida and Chennai, and these centers will be able to support TTSL from day one. The company also has a research and development center in Bengaluru supporting 3G-related initiatives. It also has set up 3G test labs in India, trained more than 3,200 India-based 3G technology experts and carried out site surveys for 3G network deployments.
