Juniper Supplies Core-to-edge Net for U.S. Joint Forces Command

Juniper Networks is supplying a core-to-edge network that provides real-time joint training to U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force personnel around the globe. The U.S. Joint Forces Command (JFCOM) Next-Generation Joint Training and Experimentation Network (NextGen JTEN) is powered by Juniper routers, switches, firewalls and network security and event management solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.


The network, which now supports up to 30,000 concurrent multicast streams featuring a mix of live video and virtual battle simulations for multiple users and events around the world, is used to train combatant commands and services via a spectrum of live, virtual and constructive training environments.


Juniper confirmed that JFCOM is utilizing features of the MX Series, EX Series and ISG Series to deliver, segregate and secure multiple multicast events for their multiple customers. This includes multicast features of the Juniper Networks Junos operating system. The deployment includes MX240 Ethernet Services Routers, MX240 Ethernet Services Routers, and ISG2000 Integrated Services Gateways.
