Dilithium Launches iPad Live and On-Demand Video Streaming

Dilithium has added live streaming video and Video-On-Demand (VOD) streaming for the iPad utilizing the Dilithium Content Adapter (DCA). This includes Adobe Flash video delivered through the standard iPad Safari browser.

The company said its DCA is unique in its ability to deliver live video and VOD to all iPads and iPhones (OS2 and OS3), using their built-in Safari browser. It supports all popular video formats, and performs on-the-fly and on-demand media formatting and codec adaptation. iPad users do not need to install any special applications to stream video to their device, which may be connected over wireless networks.

"The iPad has a larger screen which requires special adaptation and bitrate configurations to meet customer's viewing expectations in varying wireless network conditions," said Marwan Jabri, Founder and CTO of Dilithium Networks. "As with the iPhone, the iPad does not support Adobe Flash video."http://www.dilithiumnetworks.com
