Huawei Launches its 100G Router + WDM Solution

Huawei rolled out its 100 Gbps core networking solution. Product offerings include 100GE cards (1x100GE and 10x10GE) for routers and a 100G OTU for its WDM platform. These capabilities are provided via Huawei's in-house developed "Solar 2.0" 100G chipsets.

The T100GE cards (1x100GE and 10x10GE) for routers will increase switching capacity of the Huawei NE5000E router cluster system to 200 Tbps. The 100GE cards for routers will increase switching capacity of the NE5000E router cluster system to 200T, allowing operators to meet network capacity expansion requirements. The new router cards will offer wire-speed forwarding capability and guaranteed services at 100G wire-speed.

A 100GE port-based NE5000E router cluster system can be plugged into Huawei's OSN6800/8800 OTN system, which will now support "40/80 wavelengths at 100 Gbps. This will increase transport capacity over a single optical fiber to 8 Tbps.

The WDM 100G OTU, which is compatible with both advanced coding modulation and coherent detection techniques, leverages Huawei' s 100G optical/electrical module and core chips. It provides hybrid transport speeds of 100G and 10G/40G, enabling 40/80-channel 1500 km transport. In addition, 100G OTU helps the overall evolution of the WDM transport network by utilizing advanced, large-capacity OTN switching and ASON technologies.
