AMIMON Secures $10 Million for Wireless HD Silicon

AMIMON, a start-up with operation in Herzlia, Israel and Santa Clara, California, raised $10 million in new venture financing for its wireless HD semiconductor solutions.




AMIMON's chipsets have been shipping in volume embedded in wireless HDTVs and video accessories by leading TV OEMs selling AMIMON-based products in the US, Europe and Japan. Earlier this year AMIMON announced its second generation chipset designed for the WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) standard. The company said it can deliver full uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD content throughout the entire home. WHDI chipsets will be integrated into wireless HDTV products and other WHDI devices from leading CE manufacturers.


The Series D round of funding was led by Stata Venture Partners and included all significant investors from prior rounds, in particular: Argonaut Private Equity, Cedar Fund, Evergreen Venture Partners, Walden Israel and Motorola through their strategic venture capital, Motorola Ventures.
