Alcatel-Lucent Supplies Mobile Backhaul for Florida's FPL FiberNet

FPL FiberNet is deploying Alcatel-Lucent's packet optical transport solution for mobile backhaul. The deployment includes key elements of Alcatel-Lucent's Mobile Evolution Transport Architecture (META) solution, including the 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS) for aggregating and transporting multiple types of traffic - from SONET to Ethernet to packet.


FPL FiberNet serves telecom companies, wireless carriers, Internet service providers, enterprise and government customers in Florida through its fiber-optic network.
