Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) awarded a contract valued at US$30 million to Alcatel-Lucent for equipment, services and software to upgrade its network in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The network upgrade includes the deployment of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A (Rev. A) technology, which will enable Shenandoah Personal Communications Company, a Sprint PCS Affiliate, to provide an enhanced mobile data customer experience.
