A10 Networks Secures $23 Million for its Web Balancers

A10 Networks, a start-up based in San Jose, California with offices in Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan, secured $23 million in Series C funding for its Web Application Delivery solutions.

Since the beginning of 2008, A10 said it has won over 100 new customers for its AX Series Advanced Traffic Manager family, which are server load balancers, EX Series bandwidth management appliances with identity and ID Series network identity management appliances.

The new funding, which was led by Mitsui & Co. Ltd., brings A10's total funding to $39 million. Existing investors Mitsui, Triton Ventures, H&Q/Asian Pacific, Harbinger Venture and Enspire Capital contributed 89 percent of the C funding.

  • Earlier this month, A10 Networks announced a contract to supply its AX Series server load balancers for "Hikari-TV," a video-to-television distribution service provided by NTT Plala Inc. The company said its AX Series was selected because it meets the IPv6 and high performance requirements for accommodating anticipated growth in the number of users. The load balancers feature an Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) tuned for multi-core CPUs and offer Layer 4-7 capabilities, RAM caches, and SSL.
