Altair Samples its Mobile WiMAX Processor for Handheld Devices

Altair Semiconductor, a start-up based in Israel, announced sampling of its mobile WiMAX baseband processor to leading handheld device and module manufacturers. The company said its design sets new standards in terms of power consumption, size and cost. The device implements full WiMAX Forum Wave-2 physical (PHY) Layer and Media Access Control (MAC) functionality. http://www.altair-semi.com
