Ericsson Shows Multi-standard Radio Base Stations

Ericsson unveiled its RBS 6000 series next-generation radio base stations supporting GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA and LTE in a single package.


The RBS 6000 series products are available in indoor, outdoor and main-remote packages. The compact design requires only 25 percent of the space used by previous generations while at the same time doubling capacity.


Ericsson said the RBS 6000 series reduces power consumption by 20 to 65 percent, compared with existing Ericsson radio base stations
