AT&T has experienced some slowdown in consumer spending -- most notably an increase in the number of disconnects for traditional phone lines for non-payments -- said company CEO Randall Stephenson speaking at Citigroup' Entertainment, Media and Telecom Conference in Phoenix.
However, the fundamentals of the business remain strong, said Stephenson, with all business units continuing to grow and the company has not updated its financial guidance. Stephenson said other indicators for communications, such as minutes of use or IP traffic volumes, continue to indicate robust growth.
