NetXen, a start-up offering 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) Intelligent NIC technology, announced iWARP support for its NICs.
NetXen's iWARP solution supports uDAPL (User Direct Access Programming Library), popular MPI (Message Passing Interface) implementations and is OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) 1.2 compliant. Support for the OFED 1.2 software stack is already integrated into major versions of Linux distributions from Novell and Red Hat.
"Gigabit Ethernet is the most popular cluster interconnect today," said David Pulling, president of NetXen. "And now with iWARP on 10Gigabit Ethernet, we are showing performance on par with InfiniBand; wall clock time for commercial applications like LS-DYNA is right on top of IB. This not only expands the use of Ethernet in the HPCC space, but more importantly it extends the use of RDMA technology into mainstream data center applications."http://www.netxen.com
