CopperGate Adds CTO

CopperGate Communications, which provides silicon for home networking over existing wiring, announced that Rami Verbin has joined the company as its Chief Technical Officer. He joins CopperGate from Tracespan Communications, a leading manufacturer of broadband monitoring solutions, where he served as VP responsible for all R&D activity in the company. Prior to that, Verbin held various research, development, program management and strategic marketing positions at Orckit Communications, Tioga Technologies, a pioneer in DSL IC development acquired by STMicroelectronics in 2002, and later with STMicroelectronics' broadband access and set-top box divisions.
