Tellabs Enhances its Optical Transport System

Tellabs has added new unified SONET/SDH and native Ethernet switching fabric and enhanced Ethernet aggregation capabilities to its 7100 Optical Transport System.



The Tellabs 7100 OTS now delivers all types of transport services -- ROADM, Carrier Ethernet, SAN, video, and SONET/SDH.



Tellabs said the integration means Service providers can now buy fewer stand-alone Ethernet switches and MSPPs, enabling them to deliver Carrier Ethernet services while maintaining reliability and profits.
