Hong Kong's PCCW Deploys Cisco ONS 15454

PCCW, the incumbent telecommunications provider in Hong Kong, has selected Cisco Systems' optical networking solution (ONS) to help strengthen its Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) services for its enterprise customers.



Specifically, PCCW is deploying the Cisco ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP), which uses reconfiguration optical add/drop multiplexing (ROADM) technology to add, drop or pass through any combination of the available wavelengths. Financial terms were not disclosed.
