VeriSign Enables First Text Message Based Police Tip Line in the U.S.

The Boston Police Department is launching what is believed to be the first text message based tip line in the U.s. VeriSign powers the Boston Crime Stoppers text messaging platform, provisioned the C-R-I-M-E short code, and manages the system's user interface. Citizens can text crime tips to the police at C-R-I-M-E (27463).
