LSI Corporation introduced its Advanced PayloadPlus 2200 processor designed for multi-service business gateways serving the small-and-medium business (SMB) and remote branch office (RBO) markets.
The chip features a dual-CPU processor core for handling voice, security, and other applications. The APP2200 accommodates a user range from 5 to more than 500. The APP2200 portfolio integrates including a dedicated packet processor, integrated classifier, traffic manager, security engine, voice processing, and a high-performance dual-core control and services processor. Availability is set for July 2007.
Nortel is using the Advanced PayloadPlus processor for development of a family of products targeted specifically at the small-to-medium sized business (SMB) segment.
