ColorChip Raises $7.4 Million for FTTH

ColorChip, a start-up based in Caesarea, Israel, raised $7.4 million for its glass-based Planer Lightwave Circuit (PLC) chips and modules for FTTH networks. The funding was led by Vertex Venture Capital and included existing investors Bessemer, Eurofund , Motorola , Polytechnos and Walden Israel Venture Capital.



ColorChip recently launched its Meteor II FTTx SOG Transceivers for optical network terminals (ONT/ONU) for GPON and EPON, which is currently sampling. ColorChip has also released the "Spark" product family of high performance PLC splitters mainly to the FTTx, CATV, analog and digital PONs markets.
