Sonim Raises $8.3 Million for IMS-based Push-to-Talk

Sonim Technologies, a start-up based in San Mateo, California, secured $8.3 million in funding for its IMS-based push-to-talk solution based on the new OMA PoC 1.0 standard. The OMA PoC 1.0 standard was largely driven by major European and Asian operators for low-cost push-to-talk service. Sonim's end-to-end product suite package is available for GSM operators.

The new funding came from Siar Capital along with its existing investors, including 3i, Accel Partners, Apax Partners and BV Capital.
