LeCroy Introduces WiMedia Protocol Analyzer

LeCroy announced a major new support initiative for Ultra Wideband wireless technology, focused on the standards promoted by the WiMedia Alliance. The company is enhancing its "UWBTracer" Protocol Analyzers to include support for the new WiNET networking protocol.



Ultra Wideband (UWB) is a wireless transmission technology, intended for high-speed wireless interconnection of devices in close proximity. The WiMedia standard, based upon UWB, is a flexible, multipurpose standard, which supports multiple communication standards simultaneously over the same radio platform. The WiMedia technology platform is expected to rapidly replace wired USB connections in many applications. WiMedia will allow simple, wireless and cost-effective interconnection of digital systems such PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players, printers, home electronics, video gaming, cell phones, medical instrumentation and other devices.
