Ikanos Communications agreed to acquire Doradus Technologies, a start-up developing advanced signal processing products for communications and consumer applications. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ikanos said the Doradus team brings significant expertise in developing power- and spectrum-efficient signal processing products for high-performance wireline (DSL), wireless, and digital TV markets.
Doradus' "DoraVision" VSB/QAM demodulator, which is designed for digital TV applications, enables Ikanos to expand its offering of highly-integrated, multi-functional triple play products. The acquisition will add 7 employees to the Ikanos team.
