Global Crossing is using Juniper Networks' T-series core routing platforms as part of its next generation worldwide network backbone. Global Crossing has expanded its core network by more than quadrupling the capacity of its existing backbone infrastructure to meet growing traffic demands.
Global Crossing noted that in the first quarter of 2006, it recorded a 280 percent year-over-year growth in IP VPN traffic, driven by an increasing number of customers using a converged IP solution for multiple applications, including VoIP, IP video and data.
