Modulus Video Offers MPEG-4 AVC Video Encoding in 1RU

Modulus Video introduced a small-form-factor (1RU) version of its MPEG-4 AVC video compression system. The new ME100 provides a complete implementation of the AVC toolkit and delivers sophisticated Constrained Fidelity Constant Bit Rate (CF CBR), which maximizes bandwidth efficiency. It also introduces new features to enhance IPTV services, including the first embedded low resolution proxy solution for enabling Picture-in-Picture (PIP) for Microsoft TV and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) applications.

The ME1001 standard definition encoder from Modulus Video is a full resolution MPEG-4 AVC video encoder with support for Main Profile video encoding at Level 3. It provides selectable support for advanced features such as CABAC entropy coding, macro block adaptive field frame coding, weighted prediction and de-blocking filter. Optional Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering (MCTF) significantly increases video quality by reducing random noise without incurring motion blur.
