Ikanos Unveils Multi-Mode DSL -- VDSL2, VDSL, ADSL2+, and ADSL

Ikanos Communications announced multi-mode VDSL2, VDSL, ADSL2+, and ADSL support on its SmartLeap silicon platform, becoming the first VDSL supplier to announce support for all commonly-deployed DSL services on a single line card. Ikanos will offer the ability to support ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL, or VDSL2 on a per-port basis.


Multi-mode DSL capability will enable network equipment manufacturers to offer VDSL2 line cards that support new as well as legacy DSL services. With the availability of multi-mode VDSL2/VDSL/ADSL2+/ADSL solutions, carriers can deploy VDSL2-capable line cards from nodes, remote terminals or central offices without interrupting ADSL or ADSL2+ service to existing customers. http://www.ikanos.com/
