The appliance uses widely-supported protocols, such as RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) and 802.1x., and tightly integrates with common identity stores such as Microsoft's Active Directory as well as popular LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) directories from enterprise vendors like Sun Microsystems and Novell.
