Convergin Unveils Wireless Convergence Server (WCS)

Convergin, formerly PhoneDo Networks, unveiled its new Accolade platform that serves as a core network Wireless Convergence Server (WCS) solution for Fixed Mobile Convergence.

Convergin said its Accolade platform unifies mobile, legacy and next-gen network elements, enabling service providers to accelerate their core network evolution towards SIP Mobile Convergence. It expands the reach of core switching and service platforms beyond their original domains towards IMS. The platform leverages a distributed architecture to scale up to millions of Busy Hour Call Attempts (BHCA). It supports a wide range of network elements, protocols and signaling technologies including SIP, SS7, TDM, IP, IMS, CDMA, GSM/UMTS and others. The Accolade is offered on NEBS-complaint Sun Netra hardware.
