Telmex Deploys Optical Multi-Service Node

Telmex, Mexico's incumbent operator, is deploying Alcatel's Optical Multi-Service Node (OMSN) systems to deliver Ethernet virtual private networking services, such as virtual private LAN services (VPLS), LAN extension and virtual leased lines (VLL). Financial terms were not disclosed. Alcatel already supplies DSL and DWDM equipment to Telmex.
