Nortel's COO & CTO Resign

Gary Daichendt, president and chief operating officer of Nortel Networks, has stepped down after three months with the company. Prior to his appointment in March, Daichendt had served as executive vice president, Worldwide Operations, at Cisco Systems.

Nortel also announced that Gary Kunis, chief technology officer, who joined Nortel following the appointment of Daichendt, will also be leaving the company. Kunis previously worked alongside Daichendt at Cisco Systems as Chief Science Officer.

Bill Owens, vice chairman and CEO of Nortel, cited a difference in management styles for the management change.
