Motorola and Microsoft Partner on IPTV

Motorola and Microsoft are extending their long-standing relationship for digital video solutions to include IPTV. The companies agreed to collaborate to deliver an integrated hardware and software solution for IP video services.


Specifically, Motorola and Microsoft will work together to integrate the Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software platform with the features and functionality included in Motorola's forthcoming suite of IP set-tops and advanced encoder products.


Microsoft has announced IPTV contract wins with Bell Canada, BellSouth, Reliance Infocomm Ltd., SBC Communications, Swisscom/Bluewin and Telecom Italia, among others.
