Zyxel Offers Palm-Sized Firewall

ZyXEL Communications announced its ZyWALL P1 Personal Internet Security Appliance, a small, lightweight, plug-n-play firewall and VPN device for mobile computer users.
The portable device, which has an MSRP of $299, is equipped with a 10/100Mbps Ethernet WAN and LAN ports and can be powered by the USB port. It integrates a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall and also includes ICSA-certified IPSec VPN client support. Network administrators could use it to enforce security policies on every endpoint PC whether in the office or in the field.


Zyxel said its hardware-based VPN that is much faster than software VPN counterparts.
