Adelphia Taps Motorola CMTS for Voice Services

Adelphia Communications, the fifth-largest cable television company in the US, the Motorola Broadband Services Router (BSR) family of products for deployment of advanced data services. Specifically, Adelphia selected Motorola BSR 64000 platform because of its Advanced Spectrum Management capabilities, which allow cable operators to monitor and automatically correct for Radio Frequency (RF) impairments on the Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) access network. Advanced Spectrum Management allows operators to improve the performance of legacy modems while concurrently deploying DOCSIS 2.0 modems. Financial terms were not disclosed.
