China Shanxi Unicom Deploys Motorola's Canopy Wireless Broadband

Shanxi Unicom is expanding its deployment of Motorola's Canopy wireless broadband solution in four cities in Shanxi Province -- Datong, Suzhou, Xingzhou and Taiyuen. The Canopy solution provides wireless broadband access to businesses in the four cities, which are marked with hills and mountains that make it difficult for providers to lay cable or fiber. Shanxi Unicom originally selected Motorola's Canopy solution in December 2003. In order to meet the increasing demand for high-speed voice and data transmission, Shanxi Unicom expanded its networks in May, August and September.
