NDS to Provide IPTV Content Protection System to Intelsat

Intelsat plans to use the NDS system to test operational and performance aspects of IPTV delivered via satellite. The "Synamedia" system, which is based on NDS VideoGuard security, provides encryption and secure key management system for broadband content delivery. NDS' solution for Intelsat's test includes Alcatel's Open Media Suite IPTV software solution. Amino set-top boxes will also be part of the Intelsat installation, integrating with the open architecture of the Alcatel solution. Alcatel's OMS enables service providers to create, deliver and manage broadcast TV, VOD, personal video recording, electronic program guides, web browsing and email. http://www.nds.com
