AT&T Certifies and Deploys Siemens SURPASS DWDM

AT&T has certified the Siemens SURPASS hiT 7500 multi-haul DWDM system for use throughout its network. AT&T has begun carrying live customer traffic on a major route between San Francisco and Seattle using the platform.



The Siemens SURPASS hiT 7500 DWDM System scales to carry up to 3.2 terabytes per second over 80 channels. It can carry 40 Gbps channels and has a photonic range of up to 2,000 kilometers, with less photonic signal regeneration and optical-electronic-optical (OEO) conversions needed along the way. http://www.usa.siemens.com
