CANTV, the principal operator in Venezuela and a subsidiary of Verizon, signed a five-year deal with Alcatel covering DSL and digital loop carrier (DLC) access technologies, as well as SDH and DWDM transmission systems. The collaboration between CANTV and Alcatel, which began with the supply of 100,000 DSL lines. Financial terms were not disclosed. http://www.alcatel.com
