China's Zhejiang Telecom Selects Alcatel for Metro Optical

Zhejiang Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, selected Alcatel Shanghai Bell to supply 10 Gbps optical metro transport networks in the provincial cities of Wenzhou and Jiaxin, in eastern China. The equipment will be used for enterprise Ethernet services, particularly in vertical markets such as the financial sector. The deployment, which includes Alcatel's next-generation data-aware SDH Optical Multi-Service Node systems, is expected to be completed in September 2004. http://www.alcatel.com
