QUALCOMM has begun sampling of its first Enhanced Multimedia Platform chipsets, which integrate modem and multimedia processor functionality and are optimized for data-intensive wireless multimedia. QUALCOMM said its new Mobile Station Modem (MSM6150) chipset for CDMA2000 1X and its new MSM6550 chipset for CDMA2000 1X, 1xEV-DO and GSM/GPRS deliver significantly increased processing capacity and optimized audio, video, camera and graphics capabilities.
