Norwegian ISP Deploys Juniper's M-series for VPLS

CATCH, a Norwegian ISP, deployed Juniper Networks M-series multiservice edge platforms for use in a nationwide Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) over an IP/MPLS network. Customers can be located in different metropolitan areas and receive multipoint-to-multipoint Ethernet WAN connectivity between all sites. Juniper Networks said that by deploying standards-based VPLS that use BGP for signaling and control, CATCH would realize significant operational savings due to autodiscovery and inter-AS capabilities uniquely available with the IETF draft-ietf-l2vpn-vpls-bgp-01.txt standard. Financial terms were not disclosed. http://www.juniper.net
