Norvergence Faces Shutdown Following Chapter 7 Filing

Norvergence, a provider of integrated voice and data services based in Newark, New Jersey, was forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing that is likely to lead to a liquidation of the company's assets. Other service providers, including Global Crossing and BellSouth, immediately set-up hotlines to help Novergence's estimated 7,000 small business customers nationwide who are threatened by an imminent network shutdown.
