Tarari, a start-up based in San Diego, secured $13.8 million in Series B round financing for its content processors. Tarari's silicon is used to accelerate XML processing and to accelerate processing in Content Filtering, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and Compliance systems. Tarari's acceleration offerings incorporate RSA public key, bulk encryption/decryption with 3DES/DES, message digests with SHA-1, and true Random Number Generation. Tarari will extend this support to other standards such as WS-Security.
Morgan Stanley Venture Partners was the lead second round investor and was joined by all of the first-round investors: Crosspoint Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Miramar Venture Partners and XMLFund. Tarari will apply the financing towards supporting the ramp of customer engagements and sales, and well as continued product and technology development, for its key target markets. http://www.tarari.com
