Japan's HOTnet Selects Juniper's M, T and E-series Routers

Hokkaido Telecommunications Network (HOTnet), a Japanese service provider, is using Juniper Networks M-, T- and E-series platforms in a new 10 Gbps MPLS regional network. HOTnet will launch a range of services, including QoS-controlled Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services, and is developing an MPLS-based Internet Exchange (IX). The carrier has replaced its legacy broadband aggregation equipment with Juniper Networks E-series platform, planning to leverage its capabilities to provide VoIP, content distribution and other highly customized services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
