Millinet, a Korean supplier of networking equipment, has selected Infineon's VDSL5100 chip set to allow 50Mbps services over its CVL-D5048 system. The Infineon VDSL5100 is a QAM VDSL chipset. Millinet is an official supplier of 20 Mbps VDSL systems to KT (Korea Telecom) and is participating in the carrier's benchmark test for 50 Mbps access platforms. Millinet provided KT with approximately 510,000 ports of its 13Mbps and 20Mbps CVL family of systems based on Infineon's 10BaseS EoVDSL chip sets in 2002. The company estimates a total gross sale of KRW50 billion (approx. US$40 million) from its VDSL business in 2002.
