IDT Praises the FCC for Rejecting Global Crossing's Request for an Expedited Review

IDT Corporation praised the FCC for its rejection of Global Crossing's request for an expedited review of the restructured sale of Global Crossing to Singapore Technologies Telemedia (STT). IDT filed a letter opposing a request by Global Crossing for an expedited review of the recently modified transaction with STT, which follows the withdrawal of Hutchison Whampoa from the acquisition bid. IDT argues that national security issues remain with the STT acquisition and that the FCC should hear the public's input on the matter. IDT has publicly announced its own desire to acquire Global Crossing, but so far has been rejected.
