Bill Gates unveiled a prototype PC co-developed by Microsoft and HP featuring integrated telephony functionality. The flat panel PC, which is code-named "Athens," is designed as a central communications box for office workers, offering video conferencing and voice mail in addition to standard telephony integration. Athens provides a variety of telephony interfaces, including PSTN, PBX and cellular interfaces. A Bluetooth wireless handset is attached to one side of the monitor.
