VeriSign unveiled a "NetDiscovery" service for accomplishing lawful intercepts of packet data on GPRS and CDMA 1x wireless network technologies. The company had introduced a similar service last year for helping landline carriers and packet cable operators meet federally-mandated obligations to provide lawfully authorized electronic surveillance of call content and call data to law enforcement agencies. Wireless data network operators can now use the service to ensure appropriate handling and records management of the requisite legal orders involved in legally authorized surveillance.
