AT&T Applauds California PUC on Decision to Lower Verizon's Wholesale Rates

AT&T applauded a decision by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) ordering Verizon to reduce its wholesale rates across its California territory. Last year, the Commission lowered SBC's wholesale rates. AT&T said the decision by the CPUC "reaffirms what was envisioned by Telecom Act and reiterated by the FCC in its February 20th ruling -- that state regulators are in the best position to determine what is required in the local phone market to ensure a robust and competitive market."http://www.att.com
